Bang Your Head, silicon mold of Buotte's head, drum pedal, 1999

Bang Your Head was created in Paris at the Ecole de Beaux Arts. It is based on John Cage's comment to his mentor Shopenhauer that he would have to bang his head in order to make music. This interactive piece allows participants to release frustration by pressing with their foot on the drum pedal. As the head hits the wall, it leaves marks on the wall.
