Objects Flat Things Annual Fishbowl Grant About Contact Links Home The Annual Fishbowl Grant, organized by Buotte, is an international grant to be used for artistic production, open to any practicing visual artist aged 18 and older. All one must do apply for this grant is mail one slide of artwork to: Annual Fishbowl Grant 211 Church Hill Road Augusta, Maine 04330 USA Please mail only one slide per artist. On one side of the slide, indicate the media and dimensions of the work, plus the year it was made. The work represented on the slide should be made no earlier than 3 years previous to your submission. On the reverse side of the slide, include your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. No later than December of each year, all slides received are placed into a fishbowl in a gallery or other public setting. By random drawing, one slide is drawn. The winning artist need not be present at drawing to receive grant, and is immediately contacted. Buotte then makes arrangements with the winning artist to present the grant (a personal check) at the winning artist's home or studio. The grant amount increases in increments of $250; past winners have received $500, $750, $1,000 and $1,250. Over time, the winning artist must provide Buotte with receipts for purchase of materials or services, eventually totaling the whole amount of the current grant.
