Intravenous Infusion Paintings, 2004

Buotte has been experimenting with intravenous infusion painting since 1999. All experiments have been on raw canvas. In each case, the works have imperceptible silkscreened text. More recently, this process was attempted on military medical stretchers, where names were imprinted of the all deceased U.S. military in Iraq from March 2003 to December 2007. Over time the medical infusion reveals these names--and the failed attempt to revive the dead.
