To Preserve the Stinson Sardine Cannery, 2007
Stinson Seafood is located in Prospect Harbor, Maine and is the last sardine cannery remaining in the United States. Collaborating with the plant managers Buotte created two watercolor portraits of the fish processing plant. One work was given for the company's main office; the other was cut into fragments much like sardines. Stinson employees hand-packed the art and then were sealed into Beach Cliff Sardine cans. The purpose of this project, To Preserve the Stinson Sardine Cannery, was to historically preserve the cannery in its own containers. The canned artworks were selected by Alex Rheault featured in the 2007 exhibit freedom preserved patagogue at drawing room in Portland, Maine.
